"United States, pay attention, Cuba resists your aggression." This was the slogan repeated at the top of their lungs in front of the US Embassy in Lisbon during the protest action "Solidarity with Cuba! For an end to the blockade and US aggression!", convened by the CPPC and the Portugal-Cuba Friendship Association.

Portugal's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the period 2027-2028 entails significant responsibilities, particularly in defending the principles of the UN Charter, international law, and compliance with the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic. This demands a profound change in the foreign policy pursued by this Government, following in the footsteps of previous ones.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) repudiates the latest expression of the escalating aggression by the US against Cuba, evident in the staged judicial accusation against Raul Castro, former President of the Republic of Cuba, Army General and one of the most prominent leaders of the Cuban Revolution.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) repudiates the submission of the Portuguese Government to the aggressive policy of the United States of America, which found a particularly serious new expression in the cession of the Lajes Air Base for the war of aggression waged by the USA and Israel against Iran.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC), reaffirming its solidarity with the Cuban people, condemns the repeated threats of military aggression by the US against Cuba.

The unacceptable statements by US President Donald Trump that he will "take control of Cuba" constitute a clear and direct threat of military aggression that can only deserve the strongest repudiation and condemnation from all those who defend peace, sovereignty and the rights of peoples, the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) strongly condemns Israel's criminal and genocidal aggression against the Palestinian people, with the continuation of attacks on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which increase the number of already hundreds of thousands of dead, wounded and displaced Palestinians murdered, including tens of thousands of children.

On April 24, 1976, 50 years ago today, a group of peace activists freely registered the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC), thus formalizing what had long been a living reality in Portuguese society, which faced brutal repression during the fascist dictatorship and actively intervened in the April Revolution: the existence of a broad movement bringing together people of different social origins, professional backgrounds and currents of thought centered on the defense of peace, disarmament, détente, and solidarity with peoples fighting against colonialism, aggression, war, a

April 17th marks the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners, a moment to reaffirm solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners incarcerated in Israeli prisons and to demand their immediate release.

On this day, the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) also reaffirms its vehement condemnation of Israel's criminal genocidal policy against the Palestinian people, a monstrous barbarity that has already caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and injuries, particularly tens of thousands of children, whose number increases every day.

In light of the announcement of a two-week ceasefire following the US and Israeli military aggression against Iran, which began on February 28, the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) demands an immediate and permanent end to the US and Israeli aggression against Iran and Lebanon.
The CPPC underlines that the truce now reached must be respected and fulfilled, including in Lebanon, as stated by the mediator regarding the agreement reached.
