The World Peace Council expresses its deepest sorrow for the deaths of over 20 civilians in Kunduz, Afghanistan, killed by a US criminal airstrike against a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders, last weekend.

NATO has announced it will undertake large scale military manoeuvres in Spain, Italy and Portugal, from the beginning of October until the beginning of November 2015. These exercises will involve more than 36 000 personnel from the 28 member states of this political military bloc and from other “partner” countries and organizations.

For us in the World Peace Council, it was a great satisfaction and joy to see, this September 30, the historical moment in which Palestine's flag was raised at the UN headquarters. The occasion is filled with symbolism and asks for a reflection, since it translates, above all, the hope vested by the Palestinian people in this organization for 70 years.

The U.S. Peace Council has organised a speaking tour in the U.S. from October 14-17. Palestinian member of the Israeli Parliament (the Knesset), Aida Touma-Sliman will address the public in New York City and New Haven. She is also a member of the Peace and Solidarity Committee of Israel.
