The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) marks Palestinian Land Day, March 30, remembering the general strike and the huge demonstrations of 1976 against the illegal confiscation of Palestinian lands by Israel, when Israeli troops murdered six young Palestinians in Galilee.

This date became a milestone in the patriotic unity of the Palestinian people in the struggle against Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian territories and for the right to a free and independent Palestine.

For decades, the CPPC has been denouncing the situation in Palestine, where Israel continues its brutal policy of occupation, colonisation and oppression, depriving the Palestinian people of the right to justice, freedom and peace.

As we have been stating in the dozens of actions that have taken place across the country, with thousands of people demanding Peace in the Middle East, we do not forget that, over decades, Israel imposed the occupation of Palestinian territories, disregarding international law and numerous UN resolutions. We do not forget that Israel has not fulfilled any of the agreements it signed on the Palestinian issue. We do not forget that it triggered wars, aggressions, massacres, murders, causing many thousands of victims and millions of refugees. We do not forget that for decades it illegally bombed and occupied the territories of neighbouring countries. We do not forget that it assassinated Palestinian political leaders and arbitrarily imprisoned thousands of Palestinians. Nor do we forget that it imposed a cruel blockade on the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, among many other examples of what represent decades of policies of occupation, colonisation and oppression.

Today, and after around 180 days of indiscriminate bombings and military attacks – which have already caused more than 32,552 deaths and more than 74,980 injuries, the majority of them children and women – we reaffirm our full solidarity with the Palestinian people. We reaffirm the demand for an immediate end to the massacres, crimes and Israel's genocidal policy. We reaffirm the demand for an immediate end to the cruel and criminal blockade of the Gaza Strip, which prevents access to water, food, medicine, fuel, and which condemns the Palestinian population to hunger and suffering. We reaffirm the demand for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and unconditional access for urgent humanitarian aid. We reaffirm the demand for an end to the occupation of Palestinian territories illegally occupied by Israel and the creation of the State of Palestine, on the borders prior to June 4, 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem, as determined by UN resolutions.

Dia da Terra Palestina CPPC solidário com o povo palestiniano

O Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação (CPPC) assinala o Dia da Terra Palestina, dia 30 de março, relembrando a greve geral e as grandes manifestações de 1976 contra a ilegal confiscação de terras palestinianas por parte de Israel, em que tropas israelitas assassinaram seis jovens palestinianos na Galileia.

Esta data tornou-se um marco na unidade patriótica do povo palestiniano em luta contra a ilegal ocupação por Israel de territórios palestinianos e pelo direito a uma Palestina livre e independente.

Há décadas que o CPPC tem vindo a denunciar a situação que se vive na Palestina, onde Israel continua a sua brutal política de ocupação, colonização e opressão, privando o povo palestiniano do direito à justiça, à liberdade, à paz.

Como temos vindo a afirmar nas dezenas de ações que têm tido lugar por todo o País, com milhares de pessoas a exigirem a Paz no Médio Oriente, não esquecemos que, ao longo de décadas, Israel impôs a ocupação de territórios palestinianos, desrespeitando o direito internacional e inúmeras resoluções da ONU. Não esquecemos que Israel não cumpriu nenhum dos acordos que assinou sobre a questão palestiniana. Não esquecemos que desencadeou guerras, agressões, massacres, assassinatos, provocando muitas milhares de vítimas e milhões de refugiados. Não esquecemos que durante décadas bombardeou e ocupou ilegalmente territórios de países limítrofes. Não esquecemos que assassinou dirigentes políticos palestinianos e que encarcerou arbitrariamente milhares de palestinianos. Nem esquecemos que impôs um cruel bloqueio à população palestiniana na Faixa de Gaza, entre muitos outros exemplos do que representam décadas de política de ocupação, colonização e opressão.

Hoje, e após cerca de 180 dias de indiscriminados bombardeamentos e ataques militares – que já causaram mais de 32,552 mortos e mais de 74,980 feridos, na sua maioria crianças e mulheres – reafirmamos toda a nossa solidariedade com o povo palestiniano. Reafirmamos a exigência do imediato fim dos massacres, dos crimes, da política genocida de Israel. Reafirmamos a exigência do imediato fim do cruel e criminoso bloqueio à Faixa de Gaza, que impede o acesso de água, alimentos, medicamentos, combustíveis, e que condena à fome, ao sofrimento a população palestiniana. Reafirmamos a exigência do cessar-fogo imediato e permanente e do incondicional acesso da urgente ajuda humanitária. Reafirmamos a exigência do fim da ocupação dos territórios palestinianos ilegalmente ocupados por Israel e da criação do Estado da Palestina, nas fronteiras anteriores a 4 de Junho de 1967, com capital em Jerusalém Leste, com o determinam as resoluções da ONU.
