Following the first Concert for Peace of 2025 held in April, in Matosinhos, another three concerts followd this one in different cities in the North of Portugal

On May 4th, another Concert for Peace took place at the Fundação Engenheiro António de Almeida, reaffirming the importance of fighting for a culture of Peace.

During the afternoon, hundreds of people attended the Concert, which featured the generous participation of: Balleteatro, Bando dos Gambozinos, Moura, Teresa Costa, Tiago Candal, Miguel Meirinhos and Elizabete Merêncio.

The show was presented by the member of the CPPC presidency, Rui Pereira, and the CPPC board member Isabel Camarinha spoke on behalf of the CPPC.

Due to the impossibility of attending, a greeting for the show and the work of the CPPC was read by the president of the DN, Ilda Figueiredo.

Vila Nova de Gaia

On May 24th, a beautiful Concert for Peace took place, this time in Vila Nova de Gaia, at its Municipal Auditorium.

The Concert was presented by Leonor Medon, from CPPC, and included speeches by João Rouxinol, from the national board of the CPPC, and the councilor for culture of the Municipal Chamber, Dra. Paula Carvalhal.

João Rouxinol highlighted the commitment of CPPC to education and culture for Peace, in the fight for cooperation and friendship between peoples and for Peace, thanking all participants for their contribution to these values, with their committed and generous participation in the Concert.

The councilor for culture of that Municipality, when addressing the audience, mentioned the city government's commitment to this and other initiatives in defense of Peace.

The Concert began with music by the ACMA Light Orchestra, which performed several songs, which was followed by the beautiful Shadow Theater with the piece “Silhuetas de Adriano”.

Next came Bellive Danceschool with 2 groups of dancers, who performed beautifully in different styles, and to finish off, the Andean Dance and Music Group – Intichaski, delighted us with their music, dances and costumes.

Alzira Santos, from CPPC, read 2 poems by the president of the CPPC National Board, Ilda Figueiredo, who was present at the Concert and which echoed throughout the hall – YES TO PEACE! NO TO WAR! This motto was heard several times throughout the show!

Gondomar

On the afternoon of May 25, at the Gondomar Municipal Auditorium, a new Concert for Peace was held, organized by CPPC, with the support of the Gondomar City Council and several groups and artists of all ages.

The concert was opened by the Crescendi Choir, with its young singers aged between 4 and 15, who delighted us with their songs of Peace. The students from the Gondomar Music Conservatory brought us classical music on piano and violins, which we greatly appreciated.

To conclude, the Maduro Maio group, led by Guilhermino Monteiro, performed some popular and heroic songs by Maestro Lopes Graça, reminding us that it is still necessary to fight in defense of the values ​​of April.

The presentation of the show was made by Gisela Gomes and Diogo Carvalho, and Manuela Branco, from the national board of the CPPC, spoke on behalf of the organization, thanking all participants for their contribution in holding this concert and highlighting the need to continue the fight for Peace, and to defend diplomacy and police solutions to resolve conflicts.

Dra. Inês Lino, responsible for Culture, representing the Mayor of Gondomar, referred to the Municipality's commitment to the causes of Peace, as well as its willingness to continue supporting this initiative. There were many voices that, during various moments of the Concert, said very loudly: YES TO PEACE! NO TO WAR!

Concertos pela Paz!

No dia 4 de Maio, teve lugar, na Fundação Engenheiro António de Almeida, mais um Concerto pela Paz que reafirmou a importância da luta por uma cultura de Paz

Durante a tarde, centenas de pessoas assistiram ao Concerto que contou com a generosa participação de: Balleteatro, o Bando dos Gambozinos, Moura, Teresa Costa, Tiago Candal, Miguel Meirinhos e Elizabete Merêncio.

O espetáculos foi apresentado pelo membor da presidência do CPPC, Rui Pereira, e interveio, pelo CPPC, a dirigente Isabel Camarinha. Por impossibilidade de presença, foi lida uma saudação ao concerto e ao trabalho do CPPC, da presidente da DN, Ilda Figueiredo.

Vila Nova de Gaia

No dia 24 de Maio, realizou-se um belo concerto pela Paz desta vez em Vila Nova de Gaia, no seu Auditório Municipal.

A apresentação do Concerto foi feita por Leonor Medon, do CPPC, e contou com as intervenções de João Rouxinol da direção nacional do CPPC, e da vereadora da cultura da Câmara Municipal, Dra. Paula Carvalhal.

João Rouxinol salientou o empenho do CPPC na educação e cultura para a Paz, na luta pela cooperação e amizade entre os povos e pela Paz, agradecendo o contributo de todos os participantes por estes valores, com a sua empenhada e generosa participação no Concerto.

A vereadora de cultura daquele Município, ao dirigir-se à plateia, referiu o empenhamento da autarquia nesta e noutras iniciativas pela defesa da Paz.

O Concerto foi iniciado pela música da Orquestra Ligeira da ACMA que interpretou várias músicas, à qual se seguiu o lindíssimo Teatro de Sombras com a peça “Silhuetas de Adriano”.

Seguiu-se a Bellive Danceschool com 2 grupos de bailarinos, que em estilos diferentes apresentaram bonitas interpretações, e para finalizar o Grupo Dança e Música Andina – Intichaski, alegrou-nos com as suas músicas, danças e trajes.

Alzira Santos, do CPPC, fez a leitura de 2 poemas da autoria da presidente da Direção Nacional do CPPC, Ilda Figueiredo, que esteve presente no Concerto e que fez ecoar na sala – PAZ SIM! GUERRA NÃO! Lema este, que se fez ouvir diversas vez durante todo o espetáculo!

Gondomar

Na tarde do dia 25 de maio, no Auditório Municipal de Gondomar realizou-se novo Concerto Pela Paz, organizado pelo CPPC, com o apoio da Câmara Municipal de Gondomar e de vários grupos e artistas de todas as idades.

Deu início ao Concerto o Coro Crescendi, com os seus pequenos cantores entre os 4 e os 15 anos, que nos encantaram com as suas canções de Paz. Seguiu-se a Universidade Sénior de Rio Tinto, com a sua Tuna e o Grupo de Danças de Salão, com alunos de mais de 50 anos, que foram muito aplaudidos. Os alunos do Conservatório de Música de Gondomar trouxeram-nos música clássica em piano e violinos que muito apreciamos.

Para finalizar o grupo Maduro Maio dirigido por Guilhermino Monteiro com algumas canções populares e Heroicas do Maestro Lopes Graça, fizeram-nos lembrar que continua a ser necessário lutar na defesa dos valores de Abril.

A apresentação esteve ao cuidado da Gisela Gomes e do Diogo Carvalho e pelo CPPC interveio Manuela Branco da DN do CPPC que agradeceu a contribuição de todos os participantes na realização deste concerto e salientou a necessidade de prosseguir a luta pela Paz, e defender a diplomacia e a solução policia para a resolução dos conflitos.

A Dra. Inês Lino, responsável pela Cultura, em representação da Presidência da Câmara de Gondomar, referiu o empenhamento do Município nas causas da Paz, bem como a disponibilidade em continuar a apoiar esta iniciativa.

Foram muitas as vozes que durante vários momentos do Concerto disseram bem alto: Paz Sim! Guerra Não!
