The World Peace Council (WPC) expresses its grief for the passing of the beloved and respected comrade Roland Weyl, a committed Communist French Lawyer, who dedicated his long life to the just causes of the peoples and their rights. In his 102 years of life Roland Weyl championed with modesty in defending hundreds of political activists and social fighters in various countries, the struggles of the people of Algeria, Palestine, Cuba among many others were always in his heart.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) joins the celebration of Land Day on which every year the Palestinian people remember the general strike and the great demonstrations against the expropriation of lands, in which six young people were murdered in Galilee, on March 30, 1976, by Israeli troops. The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation welcomes the annulment of the lawsuits against former Brazilian President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva by the country’s judicial institutions, which confirm the political nature of these cases carried in the scope of the so-called Operation Lava Jato and which led to his unjust prison.
