65 years ago, more precisely in 1949-50, emerged a worldwide structure committed to the defence of Peace, solidarity and cooperation among peoples: the World Peace Council. Emanating from organizations of resistance against Nazi-fascism, political parties, trade unions and social movements, and the concerted action of personalities of various nationalities and professions, political convictions and religious beliefs, the worldwide Peace movement found expression in dozens of countries from all continents.
Statements
The World Peace Council condemns the massacre organized by ISIS in Suruç city of Turkey on Monday 20th July that led 32 people to death with hundreds injured. Victims were progressive and peace loving youth of Turkey who would plan to contribute to reconstruction works of the Syrian city of Kobane (Ain Al Arab) which was seriously damaged under the attacks of ISIS.
On May 29, video footage of ammunition transport to the Islamist groups in Syria by the Turkish secret service agents was published. The Peace Association of Turkey made a statement regarding this footage.
1000 mortar projectiles, 1000 shells, 50,000 machine gun bullets, 30,000 heavy machine gun bullets!
We were not surprised, because it was not necessary to guess; we knew it.
The Executive Committee of the WPC took place in the Indian city of Goa from 26-28 November 2014. The meeting, hosted by the All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO), concluded after discussions on the threats to peace in different parts of the world with the following statement:
The World Peace Council, in its 65th year of struggle, salutes the peace loving forces of the world and calls upon them to fight together with the WPC and its member organizations, against imperialism and its brutal wars, for Peace.

El Comité de Solidaridad Internacional (COSI), organismo venezolano afiliado al Consejo Mundial de la Paz, desde el año 1972, ante la “Orden Ejecutiva” firmada por el presidente Barack Obama el pasado 9 de marzo, en la que injustamente se declaró a Venezuela como “una amenaza inusual y extraordinaria a la seguridad y política exterior de Estados Unidos”, manifiesta su preocupación por esta agresiva y peligrosa arremetida del imperialismo norteamericano en el marco de su polifacética ofensiva contra nuestro país.
