The World Peace Council (WPC) expresses its solidarity wih the people of Venezuela in defense of its achievements and in struggle for its sovereign right to decide alone and without foreign interference its matters. The WPC denounces the open threats and actions by the US admnistration (in continuation of the previous administration), by the European Union and willing allies of the region who support the destabilization in the country and impose sanctions aganst the people of Venezuela and its elected government.
The WPC calls upon all its members and friends to organize events and actions in solidarity with the people of Venezuela along with protests against the imperialist interference.
The World Peace Council salutes the peace loving forces of Venezuela and in particular the WPC member “Comite de Solidaridad Internacional (COSI)“ and declares its support to the anti-imperialist forces of the country.

WORLD SOLIDARITY ACTION DAY WITH VENEZUELA
APRIL 19, 2018 The Committee of International Solidarity (COSI), a Venezuelan organisation which has been a member of the Executive Committee of the WORLD PEACE COUNCIL (WPC) since 1972, denounces the new imperialist offensive which is building against the people of Venezuela, as well as the very real threat of President Trump himself and of a military intervention, as expressions of an aggressive and dangerous new onslaught of US imperialism which is now using armed threats against us.

This intention of Trump is part of the global tactics developed by imperialism in its attempt to rebuild its hegemony and control over the entire world. In general, these actions are directed against the entire Latin American and Caribbean region, against the new unifying experiences of the peoples in the region such as CELAC, UNASUR, ALBA, MERCOSUR and PETROCARIBE, who build their regional policies in a sovereign manner without North American interference. These actions are particularly directed against Venezuela for our important role in the construction of these organisms, as well as for the global resonance of our critical positions and denouncement of imperialism on the international scene, including those of their excesses and abuses over the sovereign rights of peoples who have decided to be free and prosperous. Such international denouncements have caused an arrogant, aggressive, warmongering and provocative response from imperialism in defense of their bourgeois lackeys and politicians of the criminal and fascist right in Venezuela.

COSI is grateful for the support and solidarity with the people and the government of the Venezuelan process, which the international forces of peace and progress have clearly expressed through messages on social networks and by emails; as well as through representatives of organizations from around the world attending the Second International Solidarity Meeting "VENEZUELA SOMOS TODOS" that took place in March of this year in the city of Caracas.

We appreciate all the statements issued by the WORLD PEACE COUNCIL (WPC), the WORLD FEDERATION OF DEMOCRATIC YOUTH (WFDY), the WORLD FEDERATION OF TRADE UNIONS (WFTU), the WOMEN´S INTERNATIONAL DEMOCRATIC FEDERATION (WIDF), UNASUR, CELAC, the MOVEMENT OF NON-ALIGNED COUNTRIES (NAM), ALBA, the LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN CONTINENTAL ORGANIZATION OF STUDENTS (OCLAE) and the BOLIVARIAN CONTINENTAL MOVEMENT (MCB), as well as dozens of POLITICAL PARTIES and SOCIAL AND POPULAR ORGANIZATIONS OF THE FIVE CONTINENTS.

Up to now, our President NICOLÁS MADURO together with the Venezuelan people, the revolutionary political organizations, the social movements and peoples of the world, have managed to counteract the strategies of imperialism and specifically the right and neo-fascist far right in their attempts to forcibly overthrow the popular and democratic government of Venezuela, but the imperialist offensive is just beginning, for this we call on the international forces of peace and progress to show solidarity with Venezuela and to actively manifest it in concrete actions from today to the April 19th, which has been declared by the COMMITTEE OF INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY (COSI) since 2015 as “WORLD SOLIDARITY DAY WITH VENEZUELA”.

In this regard, we urge the organizations to heed the call to the WORLD ACTION DAY IN SOLIDARITY WITH VENEZUELA, for the next APRIL 19th,with the objective of sending a clear message of their support and solidarity with Venezuela from different countries of the world, with the objective of give a clear and forceful message to imperialism, to demonstrate and ratify that VENEZUELA IS NOT ALONE, in defense of democracy and the presidential election of May 20, 2018, and to support international observation during during the electoralprocesses that constitute a standard of total transparency and security considered unique in the world.

Friends, compatriots and comrades we count on your support and active solidarity, we extend a fraternal greeting from the homeland of SIMÓN BOLÍVAR and HUGO CHÁVEZ, affirming that our people will continue to fight to guarantee that VENEZUELA and our region of LATIN AMERICA and THE CARIBBEAN will be consolidated as a peaceful, free, independent, and sovereign region, far from the war-like ambitions of US imperialism. DÍA DE ACCIÓN MUNDIAL DE SOLIDARIDAD CON VENEZUELA 19 DE ABRIL DE 2018
El COMITÉ DE SOLIDARIDAD INTERNACIONAL (COSI), organismo venezolano miembro desde 1972 del Comité Ejecutivo del CONSEJO MUNDIAL DE LA PAZ (CMP), ante la nueva ofensiva imperialista que se desarrolla contra el Pueblo de Venezuela, y la amenaza real del propio Presidente Trump de los Estados Unidos de una intervención militar, denunciamos esta agresiva y peligrosa nueva arremetida del imperialismo norteamericano en el marco de su ofensiva que pasa a la amenaza armada en nuestra contra.

Esta intención de Trump se enmarca en la táctica global que desarrolla el imperialismo en su intento de recomponer su hegemon ía y control sobre todo el mundo. En general estas acciones están orientadas contra toda la región Latinoamericana y Caribeña, contra las nuevas experiencias de unión de los pueblos en la región como son la CELAC, la UNASUR, la ALBA, MERCOSUR y PETROCARIBE, que construyen sus políticas regionales de manera soberana fuera de la injerencia norteamericana, en lo particular están dirigidas contra Venezuela por nuestro importante rol en la construcción de estas instancias, así como por la resonancia mundial de nuestras posiciones críticas y de denuncia contra el imperialismo en la escena internacional, por sus excesos y abusos sobre los derechos soberanos de los pueblos que han decidido ser libres y prósperos. Además de constituir una respuesta soberbia, agresiva, beli cista y provocadora del imperialismo en defensa de sus lacayos burgueses y políticos de la derecha criminal y fascista en Venezuela.

El COSI agradece el apoyo y la solidaridad con el pueblo, el gobierno y el proceso venezolano, que claramente han expresado las fuerzas internacionales de la paz y el progreso por vía de mensajes en redes sociales y por correos electrónicos; así como a través de representantes de organizaciones de todo el mundo, asistentes al Segundo Encuentro Internacional de Solidaridad “VENEZUELA SOMOS TODOS” que tuvo lugar en marzo de este año en la ciudad de Caracas.

Agradecemos todas las declaraciones emitidas desde el CONSEJO MUNDIAL POR LA PAZ (CMP), la FEDERACIÓN MUNDIAL DE JUVENTUDES DEMOCRÁTICAS (FMJD), la FEDERACIÓN SINDICAL MUNDIAL (FSM), la FEDERACIÓN DEMOCRÁTICA INTERNACIONAL DE MUJERES (FDIM), la UNASUR, la CELAC, el MOVIMIENTO DE PAÍSES NO ALINEADOS (MNOAL), la ALBA, la ORGANIZACIÓN CONTINENTAL LATINOAMERICANA Y CARIBEÑA DE ESTUDIANTES (OCLAE) y el MOVIMIENTO CONTINENTAL BOLIVARIANO (MCB), además de decenas de PARTIDOS POLÍTICOS y ORGANIZACIONES SOCIALES y POPULARES DE LOS CINCO CONTINENTES.

Hasta ahora, nuestro Presidente NICOLÁS MADURO junto al pueblo venezolano, las organizaciones políticas revolucionarias, los movimientos sociales y pueblos del mundo, hemos logrado contrarrestar la táctica del imperialismo y concretamente a la derecha y ultraderecha neo-fascista en sus ambiciones de derrocar por la fuerza al gobierno popular y democrático de Venezuela, pero la ofensiva imperialista apenas inicia, por esto hacemos un llamado a las fuerzas internacionales de la paz y el progreso a solidarizarse con Venezuela y manifestarlo de forma activa en acciones concretas desde el día de hoy hasta el 19 De Abril declarado a proposición del COMITÉ DE SOLIDARIDAD INTERNACIONAL (COSI) desde el año 2015 como “DÍA MUNDIAL DE SOLIDARIDAD CON VENEZUELA”.

En tal sentido instamos, a las organizaciones que vienen acompañando con su apoyo y solidaridad a Venezuela, la convocatoria conjunta al DÍA DE ACCIÓN MUNDIAL EN SOLIDARIDAD CON VENEZUELA, para el próximo 19 DE ABRIL, en los distintos países del mundo, con el objetivo de dar un mensaje claro y contundente al imperialismo, para demostrar y ratificar que VENEZUELA NO ESTÁ SOLA, en defensa de la democracia y de la elección presidencial del 20 de Mayo de 2018, apoyando la observación durante los procesos de auditoria electoral que constituyen un estándar de total transparencia y seguridad únicos en el mundo.

Amigos, compañeros, compatriotas y camaradas contamos con su apoyo y solidaridad activa, les extendemos un fraternal saludo desde la Patria de Simón Bolívar y Hugo Chávez, afirmando que nuestro pueblo seguirá luchando por garantizar que VENEZUELA y nuestra región de LATINOAMÉRICA y EL CARIBE se consolide como una ZONA DE PAZ, LIBRE, INDEPENDIENTE y SOBERANA, fuera de las ambiciones guerreristas del imperialismo norteamericano.
