At the time when the current Israeli government has announced plans, on July 1, to carry out a new annexation of Palestinian territories in the West Bank, the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) once again denounces and condemns these plans of annexation, recalling that the serious situation of the Palestinians is due to the illegal Zionist occupation of their territory and the international support of the United States of America, who support Israel militarily and economically and provide political and diplomatic coverage for its crimes. The recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and Trump’s plan, called 'Agreement of the Century', which in practice makes it impossible to create the State of Palestine, are more recent episodes of a long complicity.

The CPPC renews its everlasting solidarity with the Palestinian people and the heroic struggle for their legitimate national rights, namely the creation of their independent, sovereign and viable State on the borders prior to June 1967, with capital in East Jerusalem, and the right to return of refugees.

It also reaffirms its demand to cease the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, with the dismantling of all settlements, checkpoints and the segregation wall, the lifting of the siege of Gaza, the demand for the release of Palestinian political prisoners held in Israeli jails, many of whom are minors.

With the Portuguese authorities, the CPPC insists on the unequivocal condemnation of the Israeli occupation and for a clear action to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people and the recognition of the Palestinian state, as otherwise recommended by the Assembly of the Republic, following Article 7 of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic that rejects any and all forms of "aggression, domination and exploitation in the relations between peoples".

The CPPC calls on all lovers of Peace to continue their action in favour of the just struggle of the Palestinian people, by condemning the annexation of Palestine and demanding an end to Israel's crimes.

Fim à ocupação da Palestina e aos crimes de Israel!

No momento em que o actual governo israelita anunciou planos para, já no dia 1 de Julho, proceder a uma nova anexação de territórios palestinos na Cisjordânia, o Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação (CPPC) mais uma vez denuncia e condena tais planos de anexação, recordando que a grave situação dos palestinos se deve à ilegal ocupação sionista do seu território e ao apoio internacional dos Estados Unidos da América, que suportam militar e economicamente Israel e dão cobertura política e diplomática aos seus crimes. O reconhecimento de Jerusalém como capital de Israel e o plano Trump, dito ‘Acordo do Século’, que na prática impossibilita a criação do Estado da Palestina, são episódios mais recentes de uma longa cumplicidade.
O CPPC renova a sua solidariedade de sempre ao povo palestino e à heróica luta pelos seus legítimos direitos nacionais, nomeadamente a criação do seu Estado independente, soberano e viável nas fronteiras anteriores a Junho de 1967, com capital em Jerusalém Oriental, e o direito ao regresso dos refugiados. Reafirma também a sua exigência de que cesse a ocupação israelita dos territórios palestinos, com o desmantelamento de todos os colonatos, postos de controlo e do muro de segregação, o levantamento do cerco a Gaza, a exigência da libertação dos presos políticos palestinos encarcerados em prisões de Israel, muitos dos quais menores.
Junto das autoridades portuguesas o CPPC insiste na condenação inequívoca da ocupação israelita e numa acção clara em favor dos direitos do povo palestino e do reconhecimento do estado palestino, como aliás recomendado pela Assembleia da República, dando sequência ao artigo 7.º da Constituição da República Portuguesa que rejeita toda e qualquer forma de «agressão, domínio e exploração nas relações entre os povos».
O CPPC apela a que todos os amantes da Paz prossigam a acção em prol da justa luta do povo palestino, pela condenação da anexação da Palestina exigindo o fim dos crimes de Israel.
