The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation condemns the terrorist attack against the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and against other Venezuelan leaders, that took place last Saturday, August 4, in Caracas.

This attack rises to a new and dangerous level the manoeuvres and campaigns by the reactionary right wing and by imperialism, that aim at destabilizing Venezuela and at overthrowing its legitimate government, lead by Nicolás Maduro.

This attack, that took place at a moment when the Venezuelan government prepares to adopt measures in the economic sphere and for the improvement of living conditions of the people, is a demonstration of the methods and nature of those that, being unable to defeat the Bolivarian process on the ballots, once again resort to violence.

CPPC reiterates its condemnation of the manoeuvres and campaigns, promoted in coordination between the Venezuelan oligarchy and imperialism, with emphasis on the US Government, that have deeply harmed the Venezuelan people, including the large Portuguese community that resides there.

CPPC reaffirms its solidarity towards the legitimate Bolivarian Government and the people of Venezuela and their sovereign will to continue to pursue their path of peace, national sovereignty, democracy, development and social progress.

CPPC condena atentado terrorista contra o presidente da República Bolivariana da Venezuela

O Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação condena o atentado terrorista contra o presidente da República Bolivariana da Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, e outros altos dirigentes venezuelanos, ocorrido no passado sábado, dia 4 de Agosto, em Caracas.

Este atentado eleva a um novo e perigoso patamar as manobras e campanhas da direita reaccionária e do imperialismo, que visam desestabilizar a Venezuela e derrubar o legítimo governo venezuelano, presidido por Nicolas Maduro.

Tal acto, que ocorre num momento em que o Governo venezuelano se prepara para adoptar medidas no plano económico e de melhoria das condições de vida daquele povo, é demonstrativo dos métodos e natureza dos que incapazes de derrotar nas urnas o processo bolivariano, recorrem mais uma vez à violência.

O CPPC reitera a sua condenação das manobras e campanhas, promovidas de forma coordenada pela oligarquia venezuelana e pelo imperialismo, com destaque para o Governo dos EUA, que tanto têm prejudicado o povo venezuelano, incluindo a numerosa comunidade portuguesa que ali vive.

O CPPC reafirma a sua solidariedade para com o legítimo Governo bolivariano e para com o povo da Venezuela e a sua vontade soberana de prosseguir o seu caminho pela paz, soberania nacional, democracia, desenvolvimento e progresso social.
