The COVID-19 pandemic has once again demonstrated the inability, and more precisely unwillingness, of the capitalist market economy to meet the human needs of the people, especially those of the working and poor communities living under its system of extreme inequality and exploitation.
US Peace Council
Dear Friends of Peace, Justice and Human Rights Around the World,
The global spread of COVID-19 has exposed the illegal and immoral practice of imposing unilateral coercive measures (economic sanctions) by the United States government against more than thirty nations. The economic war against those nations had already resulted in unimaginable suffering of the people in the targeted nations even before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Peace Council denounces the continuing aggression by the Trump administration against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. We call on the Trump administration to immediately stop the illegal sanctions, to dismiss the false charges brought against Venezuela’s leaders, and to withdraw the U.S. war ships from the coast of Venezuela. We call on Congress to strongly oppose this latest attack by the Trump administration on Venezuela.

On January 2, 2020, the Trump Administration recklessly escalated its war on Iran by the drone assassination of Iran’s top general, Qassem Soleimani, Commander of Iran Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force. The assassination, ordered directly by President Trump, is a lawless action against an official of a sovereign state — Iran — with which the US is not officially at war. It occurred on the territory of yet another sovereign state — Iraq — with which the US is not officially at war.

Respect Syria's National Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity
The U.S. Peace Council strongly condemns the illegal incursion of the Turkish forces into Syria with the approval of the Trump Administration and in direct violation of the United Nation’s Charter and international law.
Since the September 11, 2001 attack on New York, leaders of the US military-industrial complex have put the Empire’s war machine into high gear, attacking, under the guise of an endless “war on terror” and “responsibility to protect,” one country after another and bringing death and destruction to many countries of the world, especially to those in the Middle East.
U.S. Peace Council held a press conference at the UN announcing a peace and solidarity delegation to Venezuela.
The Solidarity Mission will take place from 10-15 March and is composed of a 15-member delegation of important porsonalities of the US Peace Council and the Canadian Peace Congress.
The WPC has actively supported and facilitated the mission together with the Committee for International Solidarity (COSI) of Venezeula.

U.S. Peace Council — January 26, 2019
Once again, the bloody hand of US imperialism is reaching out into Venezuela to complete the failed job of regime change that it started in 2002 against President Hugo Chavez. There is no doubt that another US-led coup is underway to topple the democratically elected government of President Maduro in the hope of putting an end to the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela.
