With indignation and emphatic rejection we denounce the setback on the US foreign policy under the Donald Trump Administration regarding revolutionary Cuba, a setback that puts in evidence the choice made by the new President for threats and blackmail used routinely by the imperialist power against the Cuban people.

The World Peace Council has joined movements, institutions and governments in solidarity with the Republic of Cuba to support and celebrate the diplomatic victory of the Cuban people since the announcement of the reestablishment of bilateral relations with the US, in 2014.

Simultaneously, joining the Cuban people, we have always demanded the end of US interference, which constantly tries to disturb the Cuban revolution's progress and isolate the nation through a criminal blockade imposed over five decades ago.

Trump has announced the setback in June 15th, from the symbolic platform of Miami – paying homage to anti-patriotic Cubans that are happy with the US interference and economic and media war against the revolutionary island – by canceling the agreement signed in 2014. We completely reject the statements made by the new US President, which are typical of a failed and retrograde policy, of unsubstantiated and hypocritical allegations against the Cuban democracy.

We denounce the dangers of the new investments on a militarized policy by the US under the Trump administration for all Latin America, while Cuba has defended peace in the American continent and in the world – in stark contrast with the US imperialism. At the same time, we alert and call upon all for strengthening our struggle against the interference and in defense of the sovereignty of nations, facing the indications that the policies of internal destabilization will be intensified.

Therefore, we express our resolute solidarity with the Cuban people and our friend organizations, such as de Cuban Movement for Peace and for the Peoples' Sovereignty (MovPaz), the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and the Organization for Solidarity with the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (Ospaaal), in defense of the revolution and independence against foreign interference, threats, and the diplomatic setback announced by the US President.

The World Peace Council has reiterated and strengthened its support to the Cuban people and emphasized on the role that the “bigger of the Antilles” plays in promoting an international order of friendship and fraternity, solidarity, cooperation, justice and shared progress, while condemning the US imperialism, in its aggressiveness and threats against the peoples.

We'll go on struggling, for the end of the US imperialism's interference in Latin America and in Cuba!

Denunciamos o retrocesso diplomático e a ingerência dos EUA contra Cuba!

Com indignação e enfático rechaço, denunciamos o retrocesso da política externa dos Estados Unidos sob o governo de Donald Trump com relação à Cuba revolucionária, um retrocesso que evidencia a escolha do novo presidente pelas ameaças e chantagens usadas costumeiramente pela potência imperialista contra o povo cubano.

O Conselho Mundial da Paz somou-se aos movimentos, entidades e governos solidários à República de Cuba no apoio e na celebração da vitória diplomática do povo cubano desde o anúncio de restabelecimento das relações bilaterais com os Estados Unidos, em 2014.

Simultaneamente, ao lado do povo cubano, exigimos sempre o fim do intervencionismo estadunidense que constantemente tenta perturbar o progresso da revolução cubana e isolar a nação através de um bloqueio criminoso imposto há mais de cinco décadas.

Trump anunciou o retrocesso em 15 de junho último desde a simbólica tribuna de Miami – pagando tributo a cubanos antipatriotas contentes com a ingerência estadunidense e a guerra econômica e midiática contra a ilha revolucionária – ao cancelar o acordo assinado em 2014. Rechaçamos completamente as declarações do novo presidente dos EUA, típicas de uma política fracassada e retrógrada, de alegações infundadas e hipócritas contra a democracia cubana.

Denunciamos o perigo das novas investidas da política militarizada dos EUA sob o governo Trump para toda a América Latina, enquanto Cuba tem defendido a paz no continente americano e no mundo – um imenso contraste com o imperialismo estadunidense. Ao mesmo tempo, alertamos e convocamos ao reforço da nossa luta contra a ingerência e em defesa da soberania das nações, diante dos indícios de que as políticas de desestabilização interna serão intensificadas.

Por isso, expressamos nossa resoluta solidariedade ao povo cubano e às organizações amigas, como o Movimento Cubano pela Paz e a Soberania dos Povos (MovPaz), o Instituto Cubano de Amizade com os Povos (Icap) e a Organização de Solidariedade com os povos da África, Ásia e América Latina (Ospaaal) na defesa da sua revolução e da sua independência contra a ingerência estrangeira, as ameaças e o retrocesso diplomático anunciado pelo presidente dos EUA.

O Conselho Mundial da Paz tem reiterado e reforçado seu apoio ao povo cubano e enfatizado o papel que “a maior das Antilhas” desempenha na promoção de uma ordem internacional de amizade e fraternidade, de solidariedade, cooperação, justiça e progresso compartilhado, ao tempo em que denuncia o imperialismo estadunidense e sua agressividade e ameaças contra os povos.

Seguiremos em luta, pelo fim da ingerência do imperialismo estadunidense na América Latina e em Cuba!
