The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) salutes the 25th. anniversary of the Bolivarian Revolution, which began with the inauguration of President Hugo Chávez in 1999, opening a path of hope and of economic, social, cultural and political transformation at the service of the Venezuelan people, which was enshrined in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Along these 25 years and following a complex path, the Bolivarian Revolution faced and overcame interference and aggression, attempted coups d'état, economic boycott, terrorist violence, threats of intervention, sanctions and economic blockade, the theft of assets abroad, imposed by the US, with the support of the oligarchy.

In 2024, the Venezuelan people, with the government led by Nicolás Maduro, continue to have to face threats, blackmail and ultimatums from the US, which insists on forgetting that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is a free, sovereign and independent State, with – as determined by its Constitution – its fundamental values being “life, freedom, justice, equality, solidarity, democracy, individual and social responsibility, the pre-eminence of human rights, ethics and political pluralism” .

On this occasion, the CPPC stands in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their relentless struggle in defence of the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela and its sovereign right to decide – free from any external interference – its path.

Nos 25 anos da Revolução bolivariana
- Solidariedade com o povo venezuelano

O Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação (CPPC) saúda os 25 anos da Revolução bolivariana, iniciada com a investidura do Presidente Hugo Chávez, em 1999, que abriu um caminho de esperança e de transformação económica, social, cultural e política ao serviço do povo venezuelano, que foi plasmado na Constituição da República Bolivariana da Venezuela.
Ao longo destes 25 anos e percorrendo um percurso complexo, a Revolução bolivariana enfrentou e venceu a ingerência e a agressão, tentativas de golpe de Estado, o boicote económico, a violência terrorista, as ameaças de intervenção, as sanções e o bloqueio económico, o roubo de activos no estrangeiro, impostos pelos EUA, com o apoio da oligarquia.
Em 2024, o povo venezuelano com o governo presidido por Nicolás Maduro, continua a ter que enfrentar as ameaças, as chantagens e os ultimatos dos EUA, que insistem em esquecer que a República Bolivariana da Venezuela é um Estado livre, soberano e independente, que – como determina a sua Constituição – tem como valores fundamentais «a vida, a liberdade, a justiça, a igualdade, a solidariedade, a democracia, a responsabilidade individual e social, a preeminência dos direitos humanos, a ética pública e o pluralismo político».
Nesta ocasião, o CPPC solidariza-se com o povo venezuelano e a sua contínua luta em defesa da soberania e independência da Venezuela e do seu direito soberano de decidir – livre de quaisquer interferência externa – o seu caminho.
