On March 16 the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation held, in Lisbon, the initiative "70 years of struggle for Peace" in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the World Peace Council, where the following text, on the decision by the US to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), was made public.
On the 21 April, the World Peace Council celebrates its 70th anniversary. It has always struggled against wars, denounced the imperialist system, cultivated solidarity among peoples and united with democratic and peace-loving forces. The WPC, its member organizations and friendly entities prioritize the strengthening of unity and the breadth of its action to face the growing threats in our struggle for peace.

The Second International Solidarity Mission with the Venezuelan people has brought 87 international delegates from 65 organizations in representation of 45 countries to Caracas, Venezuela as part of an initiative from the World Federation of Democratic Youths and the World Peace Council.

The Portuguese council for Peace and Cooperation, alongside two dozen other organizations, marked on april 4 in Lisbon and 5 in Porto, the 70 years of NATO with public initiatives, where the crimes of that aggressive political-military bloc were denounced as well as the dangers it represents for World peace and security.

WPC regional meeting of the Americas & the Caribbean will be held in Caracas 11th April 2019. It will be hosted by COSI from Venezuela. It will coincide with the WPC solidarity mission to this country.
On Friday March 15th 2019 the Czech Peace Movement together with other anti-war and anti-fascist organizations commemorated the 80th anniversary of the German Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia. The commemorative meeting took place on Wenceslas Square in Prague. Among other speakers there was also the chairman of the Czech Peace Movement Milan Krajca who underlined the importance not only of the defence of the historical truth, but also of the contemporary struggle against today's danger of fascism and war.
